President's Corner: By Aric D. Wentz, A.P.P. Greetings everyone! I write this post on election day, and I can’t help but stand in awe of this pivotal moment in American history. The societal and economic implications of this election are monumental, and supply management professionals can certainly count themselves among the interested parties. There can be little disputing the fact that we find ourselves in a recession the likes of which have not been experienced for decades. Already the federal government has acted to address the credit crisis, and there are sure to be continued efforts of public intervention. It has been long since the American economy functioned as a truly free market, but the recent government bailouts signal an entirely new paradigm. In this environment, supply management professionals must ceaselessly monitor their markets and manage their supply base. Executive management will rely upon our professionals more than ever to provide a strategic input as our organizations weather this economic downturn. It is with this climate in mind that I recommend our members maintain a strong commitment to professional growth. As always, you can depend upon NAPM-LV to continue to provide education events, seminars, and networking opportunities. Our presence in the

Topic: The Salesperson’s Perspective of the Supply Management Professional For the past eleven years, John has held the position of Strategic Accounts Manager for Graphic Packaging (formerly known as Altivity Packaging and Smurfit-Stone Container). NAPM-LV FOOD AND SUPPLIES DRIVE "NAPM-LV is asking our members and friends to join our efforts to collect items for the needy. We are asking for items that are non-perishable, and also small household/personal use items. We will be gathering these donations at each PDM from November to February, and will be donating the items to organizations like Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley, Turning Point, and American Red Cross."
